Privacy Policy — HealthBridge

  HealthBridge does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data. No account required. No cloud storage. Everything stays on your device.

1. About HealthBridge

HealthBridge is a mobile application that helps users find clinical trials and understand medical documents in their own language. It is published by Axion AI LLC, Boston, Massachusetts, USA.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

HealthBridge is designed with privacy as a core principle. We do not collect:

Your name, email address, or any personal identifier
Your health conditions, search queries, or eligibility questions
Documents you scan or translate
Your location (beyond the country you select voluntarily for trial search)
Device identifiers for advertising or analytics purposes
Any data transmitted to Axion AI's servers

3. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

HealthBridge stores the following data only on your device:

Saved trials — clinical trials you choose to bookmark for offline access
Scanned documents — documents you scan and translate using the camera
Language preference — your selected app language
Usage count — a locally encrypted count of app actions, used only for the free-use tier logic

All local data is stored in encrypted form on your device. This data is never transmitted to any server.

4. Clinical Trial Data

When you perform a search, HealthBridge queries the public ClinicalTrials.gov API (operated by the U.S. National Library of Medicine) to retrieve trial information. This request includes your search term and selected country. No personal identifiers are sent. The ClinicalTrials.gov privacy policy applies to this request: nlm.nih.gov/privacy.html.

After the initial search, all trial data is stored locally. Subsequent viewing, translation, and eligibility questions work fully offline.

5. On-Device Translation

Translation is performed entirely on your device using Google ML Kit translation models. Translation models are downloaded once per language (approximately 15MB each) and operate offline permanently thereafter. Text you translate is never sent to any server — not to Google, not to Axion AI.

6. Camera and Document Scanning

When you scan a document, your camera is used to capture an image. OCR (text recognition) is performed entirely on-device using Google ML Kit. Images and extracted text are stored locally only if you choose to save the document. No images or text are transmitted to any server.

7. Health Data Accessed and How It Is Used

HealthBridge accesses the following categories of health-related data solely to provide its core features. All processing occurs on your device. None of this data is transmitted to Axion AI or any third party.

Health conditions and symptoms — entered by you when searching for clinical trials. Used only to query the public ClinicalTrials.gov API and to answer eligibility questions on-device. Not stored permanently unless you save a trial.
Medical documents — scanned via camera for translation and plain-language explanation. Processed entirely on-device using OCR and ML Kit translation. Stored locally only if you choose to save the document.
Clinical trial eligibility criteria — retrieved from ClinicalTrials.gov and matched against criteria you provide on-device. Not stored beyond the session unless you bookmark the trial.
Preferred language — used to select the on-device translation model. Stored locally as a user preference.

HealthBridge does not infer, derive, or share any health profile about you. All health data you enter or scan is used in the moment and stored locally at your discretion.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Retention: All data HealthBridge stores (saved trials, scanned documents, language preference, usage count) resides exclusively on your device. Axion AI retains no copies on any server. Data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app.

How to delete your data:

In-app: Use the delete option within the app to remove individual saved trials or scanned documents at any time.
Full reset: Go to your device Settings → Apps → HealthBridge → Clear Data. This permanently removes all locally stored data.
Uninstall: Uninstalling HealthBridge removes all associated local data from your device.

Because no data is transmitted to or stored on Axion AI's servers, there is no server-side data to request deletion of. If you have questions, contact us at privacy@axionaiapps.com.

9. No Advertising

HealthBridge does not display advertisements and does not integrate any advertising SDK. No advertising data is collected or shared.

10. Children's Privacy

HealthBridge is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has used the app, please contact us.

11. Medical Disclaimer

HealthBridge is for informational purposes only. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Eligibility assessments are checked against publicly available trial criteria on your device — they are not medical determinations. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before joining any clinical trial.

12. International Users

HealthBridge is intended for users worldwide. Because no personal data is collected or transmitted, GDPR, CCPA, and similar privacy regulations are satisfied by design — there is no personal data to process, store, or protect on our end.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be noted in the app update release notes. Continued use of HealthBridge after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
